Talk out of

Talk out of é um phrasal verb que significa convencer alguém a não fazer alguma coisa. Exemplos:

“We were trying to talk her out of going there in this bad weather.” (Nós estávamos tentando convencê-la a não ir lá nesse tempo ruim.)

“I’m glad you talked me out of buying that car.” (Eu fiquei feliz que você me convenceu a não comprar aquele carro.)
