Ask out significa chamar/convidar alguém para sair. Exemplos:

“He finally had the courage to ask her out” (Ele finalmente teve a coragem de chamá-la para sair).

“She is waiting for him to ask her out to the prom” (Ela está esperando ele convidá-la para o baile).
