Pick a fight significa arrumar briga. Exemplos:

“It seems like he wanted to pick a fight with the other guy.” (Parecia que ele queria arrumar briga com o outro cara.)

“Why are you trying to pick a fight with me?” (Porque você está tentando arrumar briga comigo?)
