Pay peanuts é uma expressão que significa pagar pouco. Exemplos:

“His job payed peanuts but he was happy”. (O trabalho dele pagava pouco mas ele estava feliz).

“The interneship pay peanuts but it will be good for my career”. (O estágio paga pouco mas será bom para minha carreira).
