Impose on

Impose on é um phrasal verb que significa impor algo à alguém, forçar alguém a fazer algo mesmo que isso seja inconveniente. Exemplos:

“He’s always imposing on people, that’s why everyone keep away from him after a while.” (Ele está sempre impondo algo inconveniente às pessoas, por isso que todo mundo mantêm distância dele depois de um tempo.)

“If people act according to the rules voluntarily, nobody would have to impose them on.” (Se as pessoas agissem de acordo com as regras voluntariamente, ninguém teria que impô-las.)
