Put up to

Put up to é um phrasal verb que significa convencer ou incentivar alguém a fazer alguma coisa ilegal, boba ou imprudente. Exemplos:

“I bet it was Peter who put you up to this.” (Eu aposto que foi o Peter que te incentivou a fazer isso.)

“I belive someone put him up to this. He would never do that intentionally.” (Eu acredito que alguém tenha convencido ele a fazer isso. Ela jamais faria isso intencionalmente.)
