Getting a lot of flak é uma gíria que significa receber muitas críticas. Exemplos:

“He is getting a lot of flak because of what he said last week.” (Ele está recebendo muitas críticas pelo que disse na semana passada.)

“I think the movie is awesome, I don’t know why it’s been getting a lot of flak.” (Eu acho que o filme é maravilhoso, eu não sei porque tem recebido tanta crítica.)
