Beat to the punch é uma expressão que significa fazer algo antes que outra pessoa possa fazer. Exemplos:
“We tried to finish the design sooner but the other team beat us to the punch.” (Nós tentamos terminar o design antes mas o outro grupo terminou antes de nós.)
“I try to be efficient but she always beats me to the punch.“ (Eu tento ser eficiente mas ela sempre termina antes de mim.)
